Specimens For The Lab
Specimens that have to go to the hospital are collected from the surgery three times each weekday by a hospital courier.
- You can leave your specimen at the surgery for the courier to collect no later than 4.00pm each day Monday – Thursday and no later than 3:30pm on Friday (unless the Surgery is closed for Staff Training)
- You can take your specimen direct to the Pathology Laboratory at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (signposted from the main entrance)
- When arranging the test we will discuss with you when and how you can obtain your result.
- Test results arrive at the surgery on a daily basis. If we ask you to telephone for the result, please do so between 2pm and 4pm.
