District Nurses visit housebound patients to assess their needs and are responsible for such things as post-operative care, nursing care of the chronically ill and disabled, and nursing care of the elderly. They work with organisations such as Social Services and Age Concern, and can arrange assessment for Community Care, evening nursing services and the supply of medical equipment.
